Greetings Game Topper Nation.

First, we want to thank you for your continued support and kind understanding during this challenging logistics season. (We get a lot of emails with questions we cover in the updates, but we realize sometimes people don’t get these. You can always check the KS update tab, and it isva good idea to checkspam folder for your KS email.)

Update: (when your pledge is shipping you will recieveva UPS tracking email)

1.  We are nearing the completion of the USA Topper and Topper package fulfilmemt. Yay!!! (not to be confused with late pledges-if you ordered after the KS as a late pledge/pre-order that will be next)

We expect by the middle of next week  the remaining KS Wave 2 USA orders will be shipped, if all goes well.

2. The next segments are LATE Pledges Topper pre/orders …we have about 100 of these packages we expect to take about 1 week to ship.

3.  Late Pledge small orders like leaf bundles, rail bundles, mat and accessories late pledges. We expect this to take 1 week. This includes items you may be missing from your initial pledge.

(Leg Kit and Dining Cover not included in the above shipping) see below.

Leg Kits:

These are in transit to Vancouver. Latest ETA is recieving them at end of Feb.

We then need to inventory and package these. We hope to get these all out very soon after we recieve them.

Dining Covers:

Still in process. Estimate based on current info that April/May we recieve them.

There are many moving parts and doing our best to get these ASAP. Dining cover will ship separately when they arrive and are packaged.

Canada wave 2 and Late pledges will ship once we get Leg kits in. Estimated 1st week of March but is dependent on Leg Kit arrival.

EU and Australia orders:

Overseas backers can still add to thier pledges and Late pledge. we need our dining covers to arrive to include in these shipments.

Josiah and the team have been working very hard. The fewer support questions/emails asking for updates would help us finish much sooner. Every email, takes away from us packing your orders, We deeply care about getting your order to you and we will always answer your questions. We know people are excited and have concerns, but unless it is a critical question, like address change, lost shipment or damaged item if you can hold off it will help us get through these last segments faster.

Greetings Game Topper Nation!!!

It's a New Year with exciting new hopes and dreams! I'd be remiss if I first didn't say how much we appreciate you all, and how your support in this very difficult fulfilment cycle has been  truly overwhelming.

My biggest concern is never me, it is always  about you having a good experience with us, and then the well being of our team. We thank you for your kind patience and encouraging sentiments!!! Thankfully, we are about 90 percent complete with domestic fulfillment,  and most have received the majority of their pledges with a few exceptions I will talk about below.

It has been a challenging time for our manufacture too, but they have remained committed to keeping us on the top of their list for our orders. We just received a semi of Game Toppers, Leaves and Accessory Rails to finish domestic Wave 2 and late pledge orders. More coming in a couple of weeks.

Update:

We  had a very frustrating delay with a large 45 ft. container of mats that arrived in Tacoma Washington Dec 17th. This was the remaining new mats, Game Haul Bags, Rail Bags, Leaf Bags and other small items needed to finish domestic fulfilment. Because of port congestion, it got moved to a holding yard with hundreds of other container's with no way to dispatch. On top of that they charged us $315 for every 5 days and would not allow us to pick up. The transloader finally picked up Jan 14th. It was suppose to transload and ship the 17th. Find out the warehouse had a Covid outbreak and it didn't leave until Friday 21st. 

Good NEWS!!! We just received it Monday. We are now inventorying and preparing wave 2 pack lists for Domestic fulfillment completion. Thankfully, we only have about 10 percent of Domestic fulfillment left. Josiah and the team are working very hard and diligently on getting this last domestics Wave 2 and pre -orders delivered. We expect this process to take us about two weeks. 

So if you are one of the remaining 10 percent that fall in this category, you should  be seeing a shipping address verification email soon and when your pledge ships you will receive a tracking verification email. Please monitor your spam folders.  This includes late pledges.

Canada remaining fulfillment -We expect the truck to go out end of Feb to our fulfillment Center as well.

Exception Note: (Leg Kits and Dining Covers)

The Leg kits had been held in port since Oct 24th, because of 3 bumped shipments. I won't bore you with the gory details. I cannot tell you how frustrating  and costly this has been for us. We should have had them all shipped out by Dec. Well, they finally made it on a ship Jan 15th heading to Richmond, Wisconsin. We expect these the middle of Feb. if all goes well. That's a big if. Logistics have not been going well or on time as expected. Communications are the worst I have ever seen. I'm not trying to be negative, but sadly this is a new reality. We hope and have some optimism that it will work it self out in the coming months. 

I feel like I am in a Planes, Trains and Automobile, Ground Hog Day thingy!

Leg kit Delivery in the USA.

Packaging is in line and we expect we should be able to kit/package and ship out Leg kits pledges by end of Feb in the USA if all goes well. Canada should go out then too.

Dining covers. We have a new prototype arriving in a few days.  (See Nov update more details)

This has been a process and taken much more time than expected due to allocation and product specs. It's complicated and many moving parts. To spare you the details, we are expecting to receive these in April. Lunar new year in /china and shipping issues are contributing to this delay.

I will keep you update in March about this all. I'm confident that we will have these for you relatively soon and you'll be impressed, but I need to make sure we get all the details correct and provide you the top notch quality we expect!

Overseas shipping.

I feel like I have talked about this at nauseum, but it is worth repeating as we have many new backers overseas. The reason we can provide the low cost of shipping to The UK and EU ...is bulk shipping.

A single mat can cost from $80-$120 to ship from the states, and a topper over $1000.00. It's crazy!!!

While it is still costly, as you know our shipping rates with this method are a fraction of what it could be. 

So of course, we need everything to to be in-stock before we can sent the international shipment to Germany, UK and Australia. We had hoped this would be done before March 2022, but all of the delays in the world  it has had a cascading effect. I am very sorry that this is the way it is. Rested assured, I deeply care about this and have made every provision I can possible make to get this done asap. I even have some exciting ideas I'll relay soon.

I can't wait to share exciting plans for the future!!!! While I am working on the future, the majority of our focus is getting you all these great upgrades to your gaming!!!

Greetings and Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you all.

Thank you all for the awesome kind thoughts and comments. You are really just amazing people. We are so grateful for you.

First, many of you may know I do a podcast with Barry Doublet from France called the Burky and Badger Board Game Babble Show. We have been doing it for 4 years and don't advertise it much, it's just fun time to get together and talk games. Why am I telling you this? I'm so glad you asked. Ok, on to the update:

There are tons of details and fluid information due to our product offerings. I'm going to try to make this shorter and more digestible. Basically, our last update explains the specific delays and challenges we have had. I'll update you on a few items. For those that want all the details feel free to read the long version.

Since the Last update, we have received 40 of the 50 Standard Holmes and the 90 of the 105 standard Mycroft's. We have also received the final few Sculpted units for me to place the sculpted wood in.

We air freighted (at a crazy high price ) enough of the Castle Player Shields, Cardboard Cup Coasters, Game Topper Accessory Bank, and Dry Erase Markers so we could fulfill the combined package orders and ship out to those that had not received them with their first shipment. This allowed us to send out a bunch of packages and accessories as many of you know. Over all we have been doing well and many of our US backers have received their pledges.

What are we waiting for?

We are still waiting for the extra units that were short and the Walnut Mycroft's and Adler's are expected to arrive Thursday before Christmas.

Our next container has arrived in Tacoma Washington with all the NEW mats and mats we are out of (that we need to include with Topper, Leaf and Rail packages left) and the Game Haul bags. We had hopes it would arrive before Christmas, but we still cannot get an answer on an exact arrival date to us. 

The container has been offloaded in port and is awaiting customs clearance and transloading to us. When will it leave and arrive here? We hope in 1 week. Communication is horrible, we get responses like "You'll get it when you get it" Really burns my rump. Sadly, that is what is happening, people are overworked, frustrated and so much out of ones control.

This means that we feel we will be able to basically start shipping the remaining Domestic orders starting next week and into the middle of Jan. I expect we should have this mostly all done by the end of Jan 2022. (See exception below)

Canada Wave 2 should likewise starting first part of Feb.

What is left?

The Leg Kits are finished, but we have had the ship cancelled twice. So frustrating!!! It was suppose to go out Nov 21. Ship got canceled because of flooding in Vancouver. Rescheduled for Dec 14th and then got bumped due to overbooking. While this is so upsetting, I believe denials are not rejections. What I mean by that is, that sometimes there are benefits of these changes and I always look for the positive opportunities.

We have a new booking for Jan 1st and we were able to include our remaining order of accessories to combine with the leg kit order and if all goes well will get those items sooner that we had planned. The eta for arrival is Jan 25th.

We feel we should be able to ship these to the US by the middle to end of Feb. Again, this is best projections, but we cannot control if we get bumped again. Believe me, I have pushed as hard as I can, but we are not Cosco and don't have much pull. As soon as we have them packaged we will ship these out.

Dining Covers:

We have had crazy difficulties with supply of the high density MDF to powder coat. We have found a  high quality supplier in Asia and while we wanted to do this domestic production, we had to look for other options as it is not possible due to domestic supply chain issues. We are working with a very large company that are experts at this. It has taken more time to dial in the dims and details. We have two sample prototypes being sent to us for final approval. We expect to receive them by the middle of Jan.

If we are able to approve without changes, production will be 20-30 days. However, we do not think they will be able to start before the Chinese New Year which is earlier this year at the end of Jan, lasting 3 weeks.

Shipping is still expected to be crazy high priced and constrained after the break. Long and short of it, we expect that we should be able to ship these out by April 2022. Obviously, this has been extremely stressful for me, not being able to make it happen sooner. There was just no way to anticipate these problems. We will persevere and you know I will honor our word and fulfill these items as soon as possible.

Wave 2 delivery estimates and news. 11-4-21

Greetings Game Topper Nation!!!!

It is truly amazing how time flies by. I have been wanting to put out an update, yet I continue to struggle to get quality information from our many suppliers.  I always want to do a good job, be transparent and provide accurate information. This has been the hardest year I have ever experienced in business being able to do that well, but I will do my best with the info I do have now.  Hang on, it's going to be a wild ride!

With that all said, I want to assure you all is well with Game Toppers. While it has been a more difficult process than normal, our team and partners are committed to taking care of our customers. Thankfully and with much credit to our team,  we were able to complete the vast majority of Wave 1 topper pledges and Mat only Wave 1 pledges over a month early! Close to 1000 parcels!  I would be celebrating that achievement, but Wave 2 has proven a bit more complicated. In short,  of the remaining pledges, some backers will be near on time and some will be slightly delayed. I really thought we had planned well enough and given enough "Fluff Time" to deliver ahead of schedule. We were doing great and then...BAM, KAPOYEE, BIFF...  supply and shipping problems hit us all. So we have had some hiccups, but have no fear the dynamic duo is here.

As you all probably know by now, every sector is experiencing severe logistical challenges and supply chain problems. We have not had the fortune of being exempt from these problems. I am going to do my best to give you the reasons and a timeline of expected outcomes.  

First, we just shipped out a bunch of 3 x 5  Roman mats (over 600 of them in the USA/Canada). This was for the Foundations of Rome Kickstarter from our friends at Arcane Wonders. Some folks have been concerned why they are getting a package from us that doesn't look like their Game Toppers Pledge. So no worries that is their KS early fulfillment blessing their backers with an early item. I absolutely love this mat!!!

WAVE 2 UPDATE:

To help Clarify... Wave 2 Pledges include:

1. Any pledge level that was classified as Wave 2 (which would include Standard, Lux Oak and Premium Walnut Toppers. Models include Mycroft/ Moriarty,  Holmes, Adler, Lestrade and Watson models. )

2. European and Australian Orders  and a few other remote areas

3. Late pledge orders

4. New Mat styles including, Roman, Cthulhu, Great Wall, Volcano, Pirate mats, 54 x 84 Crimson Red (I had pre-emptively ordered some Watson and Holmes,  sizes that many of you received) but we unlocked many new sizes that need to be ordered.

5. New accessories; Acrylic covers,  Dry Erase Pens, Cardboard Coasters, Castle Privacy Screens, Game Haul Game Topper Game Bag, Game Topper Accessory Bank.

6.  Leg kits/center supports and Leg Kit Bags

7.  Dining Covers, XL Dining cover, Gaming Shelf and padded Storage Bags .

8. Certain Extension Leaf and Rails that were not in current stock, but awaiting more aluminum.

Wow, that is just a pot load of stuff!!! It is so awesome to see all these amazing ideas come to life thanks to all your help!!!  It becomes quite complicated managing all these items and timelines. I always say our life is like a heavy Euro every day.  

Great, so when will it all arrive you might ask? I'm so glad you asked.

Shipments we are are waiting on and projections:

 One of the reasons for delays is that in Asia, other than container availability and port congestion, there are rolling power shutdowns from the government. They essentially work 3 days a week now. Really something! There is hope that it  will actually help with port congestion, but it does come with the problem of delays.

1.  I'll start with mats, Game Haul Bags and Leg Kit Bags a few small items (coasters).They have been completed! We have been waiting for a container booking since OCT 15th. (Again, part of my delay in not updating sooner) This is such a frustrating experience as I had plans to exceed expectations for my backers. It's so crazy out there; right now you just take what you can at the price they say, and that is what is happening. Good News!!! Just yesterday I received news we have a container booked. It will ship to Tacoma, Washington and then need transloading and trucking to our warehouse. Normally, a 25 day timeline if all goes well. I am planning 40-50 days. That may change given peak season and port congestion. That means I do not expect these items till the middle part of December.

2.   Leg kits.  I am super happy with the quality progress of all these parts. The order is finished, awaiting a container.  This is coming from a different port and a booking has been requested, but is not booked yet. I'm not overly concerned. I am hopeful this will book next week from this port and arrive at a very similar time as our other container so we can package and ship them out. It will take our team at least 2 weeks to package and manage that segment, so am hopeful we can get them out by the end of Jan. Maybe sooner, but I just want to temper expectations as there are a lot of moving parts to this. This is a separate package that will not hold up any other pledges in most cases.

3.  New Accessories (See list above) We have a fairly large order, but due to shut downs, product refinement, and correspondence delays they have taken much more time that anticipated. All items are in production and expected to be completed by November 12th. Due to these delays, I felt it necessary to book air freight passage on enough of the items to take care of Wave 1 backers that are waiting on items, and enough to cover the Wave 2 shipments. This was an extra $8000 shipping cost decision on my part, but felt it was the right thing to do rather than holding everyone's pledges until they arrived slow boat next year. I believe we should receive these items the last week of November.

4. Remaining Toppers.  This is has been a challenge.  Our USA based manufacture has been stellar to work with, but they likewise have not been immune to the product availability problems and price increases. For instance, We have experienced 16 percent increases in aluminum, 12 percent in packaging, simple items like the amazing 3M rubber material that is on the bottom of our rails and cross supports that protect your furniture and keep it from moving have over doubled in cost.

This has cause me to absorb two price increases to the tune of $60-$100 per unit. Not to mention shipping cost increases. 

Force Majeure:  We placed our Topper order last July with expected delivery in OCT. 

Our supplier then initiated the ordering of all the parts. It's a huge order with lots of parts!!!! They were supposed to get the EPVC flooring OCT 6th. They called to check on the order and a Force Majeure was implemented on their P.O. canceling the entire order at the last minute, stating product shortage and price increases as the reason. We were all furious. These are big companies. The long and short of it is there are long delays in getting product and cost has doubled. We were able to acquire enough stock material (at 3 times the price) that could make 51 Standard Holmes models and 105 Mycroft Standard models. The Holmes are starting to be built next week. We expect the Mycroft standards to be done in 2- 3 weeks. By getting these units by the end of the month and with what toppers we still have in stock, this constitutes the majority of Wave 2 domestic Topper pledges left. 

 The remaining 38" aluminum for standard Watson products and Lux rail aluminum for our remaining domestic Toppers, and 4 Sculpted toppers we are waiting on should arrive at the end of Dec for production/fulfillment in Jan of 2022.

We have some Walnut and Oak Holmes, Watson in stock now that are waiting for mats and accessories to arrive. So we feel if the above shipments happen as expected, there is a good chance about 200 more units will go out by the end of the year and about another 100 in Jan finishing up the US fulfillment. 

 4. Dining Covers and Gaming Shelf

This has been the item that has caused me the most concern. I started communicating this product is having supply side availability problems in past updates that we hoped would settle down as wood products have seen more availability. Well unfortunately,  it has gotten worse.  The type of high density MDF that is used for this product mostly comes out of Canada and it has just been a nightmare for these producers. It has gotten so bad I just found out that a major supplier of material actually had to close their doors because of lack of product to provide. Big companies are taking any supply that becomes available. The company I was working with that does 20 million in sales a year said, the suppliers are so rude and make frank statements like, "you get what you get, and this is the price, take it or leave it". 

We anticipated our stock in Sept, then we were told October, now they say they are not sure if they will be able till next summer and not sure about that. 

Back in Sept when I started hearing these problems, I was still optimistic based on conversations that they would work out, but I decided it was prudent to vet other companies and even some overseas just in case. This proved fruitful and ultimately needful. Due to the shipping dilemma -availability and cost of 300 percent more to ship items (...and these are big heavy items) it isn't a  big cost saving thing in the end, but can be produced, hopefully in a reasonable time frame. 

We commissioned a new prototype with our specs and quality expectations.  This actually should be done by the end of the week. We have been working on this back and forth for 2 months when I started feeling it prudent to have a plan B option. I hope to have it in 10 days to inspect and give the go ahead on.

If all goes well, and it meets my quality control standards, I'm told it will be 30 days production time and 40-50 days shipping. This should bring them to our shop by the end of Jan 2022. There is still a few if's in these statements.  I will not settle for less than the high quality I presented to everyone. While these are not $1000 plus high end solid wood covers, they are very nice and my team and those that have seen them are impressed. I will keep you updated. Not having this item will not delay anyone's order as it ships in its own package separately anyway,  and we have very good systems in place to make sure everyone get their pledge. It is just a bit behind schedule. 

5. Canadian Wave 2 orders:

The remaining Canadian orders will be shipping as a group to our fulfillment partner Pick & Pack logistics once we have all of the remaining items (Dining covers may be delayed in a third group shipment to not hold up the next shipment). This is currently expected for late January of 2022.

6. Overseas orders:

Given everything I have just stated this doesn't impact your pledges as we have been planning on shipping at the end of 1st QTR March. We even have some additional ideas to reveal at a future date that may be very helpful and happy for everyone overseas.

What about my specific order?  That can get a bit complicated depending on what each backer has selected. We need all the items here to do the combined packaging. Sending out items separately in most cases is just not doable financially or logistically. It is possible we have some of your pledge in stock, but waiting on some items to place in the package. If you have items listed above there is a chance you may receive some or all of your pledges before the end of the year. some items shortly after.

There are some that will arrive in Jan.  We are working every angle and exploring every opportunity to get these awesome upgrades out to you ASAP.  I realize Christmas is coming up and I wish I could guarantee your pledge coming by then, but I would not be honest if I made those statements. If we get the items we need in the timeframe and order we need, we will do everything in our power to ship them out as soon as possible.

Sadly, there are just so many things I just can't control or exert pressure on. It tears me up as I sure don't want to disappoint anyone. I know everyone knows of these problems, and know we take customer service as a top priority and wouldn't blames us, but I care so deeply about giving you all the best experience that it's personal. What I can tell you is we have sacrificed significant profits this year to accomplish what we have so far and are absolutely committed to getting everything out ASAP and giving you the personal responses to your questions or concerns.

IMPORTANT: Apple ID Relay Emails

It's come to our attention that many of you are unaware you are using Apple ID Relay emails and as a result are not getting our update emails or pledge manager invite. In other words, when using Apple ID, a unique, random email address is created by Apple (depending on your Apple ID configurations), so your personal email address isn't shared with the website in which the Apple ID is being used. This unique relay address can only be used for communication from the specific website (in this case Kickstarter) you created the account with and can't be reused for other apps or services

We hope you are all well. We know everyone is super excited about getting your toppers and want to give you an update. So with no further ado...

News from the warehouse floor:

Greetings from the pick room!

 Note: If you receive an address verification please check to make sure we have the correct shipping address. It's important to check Spam folders of your Kickstarter email as we have seen bulk emails go there. This is not tracking. Generally, about 1 week from when you receive address verification you should get a UPS tracking email (using the same KS email) for you actual delivery.

We have been hard at work over the last month getting Wave 1 order fulfilled. We started off shipping about 10 Toppers a week in August while we waited for the rest of our stock to come in. Ever since it arrived we have now been moving at a lightning pace! 

Over the last two weeks we have packaged over 150 toppers! About 70 have shipped already (several dozen have already arrived to their new homes) and the majority of the others are shipping out today. In fact, we had so many shipments that UPS couldn't fit them in their package cars for our daily pickups. So instead....

And here is a shot of the pallets of toppers waiting to be labeled, wrapped, and loaded up onto the trailer.

By the end of today, we should have most of wave 1 complete. Tracking also just went out for all orders which have shipped.

We will have about 25 wave 1 toppers that didn't make it onto the trailer, but those will be finished up next Monday-Tuesday, so if you don't get tracking right away don't worry. If after the middle of next week you are a wave 1 backer and have not received tracking, then please send me an email at [email protected] and I will check into it for you and let you know!

Sculpted Toppers:

Just wanted to give a brief update here. We just sent out address verifications for the US sculpted topper orders (international orders will still be shipping with the wave 2 shipments to their respective fulfillment areas).

It took us longer than anticipated to get some of the sculpted items we needed, but now everything is in our facility and it is just a matter of assembling the units and packing the pledges. Unlike our other toppers, which come fully built, we take the last step of the sculpted toppers into our own hands and inlay the sculpted wood into the topper rails. Since we only have a limited number of wood strips and they can more easily vary in color, we do this ourselves to make sure all the rails match for each topper. 

Also, Burky has been known to sign the sculpted toppers underneath making these one of a kind....

We will be working on the assembly and packing of the sculpted units mid-next week. They should all be finished and shipped by the end of next week!

Canadian Wave 1 Orders:

Two weeks ago we shipped out the Canadian Wave 1 shipments from our facility to our Canadian fulfillment partner. Shipping the orders together allows us to get a much better shipping rate than if we shipped them directly to you. 

Those orders have reached Toronto today and I have been told they should be shipping out to backers next week!

Next steps in fulfillment:

So by the end of next week we will have finished our Wave 1 fulfillment and so where does that leave us? 

We still have a while before Wave 2 Topper shipments will begin for the US/Canada (Nov-Dec) as well as European and Australian backers early next year, but in the meantime we will not be idle! We we be looking through the US pledges for orders which only include items that we already have in stock and working on shipping those.

Mat Only Pledges:

This will mainly be mat only pledges, mat rack bundles, as well as some accessory items we have in stock. We only ordered enough of the new mats to facilitate the Wave 1 shipments for sure, so there may be some mat styles that run out until we receive our next mat shipment in preparation for Wave 2 shipments.  If you receive an address verification email within the next couple of weeks, that means we had the stock for your pledge and are preparing to ship it out.

We will put out another update by the middle of October to let you know where we are at will the mat only pledges and give you an more current update on the status of our wave 2 items like mat refill order, dining covers and leg kits and other accessories shipment expectations.

We got our sample of the Game Haul Game Topper bag and it looks amazing. The good folks at Top Shelf Gaming did an amazing job! They are all done just waiting to be consolidated with our other accessory orders.
