Greetings Game Topper Nation!

I have great news!

The wave 2 fulfillment of items has arrived in Canada at Pick and Pack logistics (except for leg kits and dining covers). We have been told by next Wed all packages should leave the facility and you should be receiving Canada tracking numbers so keep an eye out and check spam if you don't get one by next week. (...and this tracking number should work compared to the BackerKit one that just identified the truck not individual pledges).

I have more great news! The Leg Kits have arrived. This container which included our leg kits, player shields, accessory game banks, and Game Haul bags had all been ready since Oct, but incurred 3 bumped ship delays as well as a 70 day ocean voyage that should have been 35, so I was a bit nervous about the condition of the shipment. To our delight, we opened up several box pallets and found the product to be excellently package as agreed with plastic on each part and foam padding. 

We checked several different boxes of bolt/nut kits and found them all exact. 

So we went to putting together a whole topper with leg kits and it was AWESOME!!!

We are packing them all up right now and expect to shipping these in about 10 days to the USA and Canada.

What's next next? Im so glad you asked.

Dining covers. This is a very long frustrating story I will make short. After exploring every option I could find in the USA and Canada (hundreds of hours of research, prototyping and resources) it was proven that due to current supply chain related issues the raw materials were not readily available to be manufactured here. After exhausting all my options domestically, I finally had to vet some companies in China who are experts at this type of product and had the capabilities to do our product well. After 3 months of exhausting work, late night back and forth emails, and team video chats we have gotten all the details right. We have received a prototype we are very happy with and are now ready for production. We are making 1000 covers and have the first part of the order almost ready for production. Production time is 35 days. The dinning cover storage bags are almost completed and will be shipped in time for the factory to packaging each cover. We have spent quite a bit of time on the packaging solution so we can do as good a job shipping this heavy package as we have on the our other shipping solutions. Shipping time is anywhere from 35 days to 70 days. We are hopeful it will only be 40-60 days. That will mean we should have them June/July. We will keep you updated on the progress and provide videos of production along the way.

UK, EU, Australia and New Zealand shipments:

Everything to complete each pledge is here and ready for individual packaging except the dining covers. The only way for us to offer the low overseas shipping rates we charged is to combine one large shipment to our fulfillment center in Germany. We cannot ship the current orders until these covers arrive. Once we have the leg kits all packaged we will be packaging all overseas orders and have them safely palletized in our shop awaiting the dining covers. We hope this can happen in June/July. We will have to see. I will keep everyone updated on these timelines and want to express my deepest apologies for those of you that have to wait a bit longer. I have done everything in my power and lost more sleep and worked harder on this one item than I have on the entirety of the project. I simple could not fix the pandemic/supply chain problems that exists as hard as I tried. I hope you can understand the situation and I want to assure you will get everything promised, and I even have a few ideas I have been waiting to announce that will turn this situation into a positive for everyone. Lastly, for all of you that contributed to the tip jar. I cannot express how encouraged and grateful  I felt for the community we have developed. 2 separate people donated $500 and several others very generous kind gifts to help us with last years shipping cost over runs we experienced, that I explained in our last update. RESEND of March Shipping Update 3-1-22 Urgent Canada request, Leg Kit, and Dining Covers.

We are just resending this update as many Late-Pledge backers did not receive it correctly. We believe the issue should be fixed now and wanted to make sure everyone received this information.  All the information is the same with the exception of a few italicized parentheticals added to account for dates mentioned that have already passed. MARCH 3-1-22 Update:

Greeting Game Topper Nation.

I just got back from Tantrum Con in North Carolina. It was so great to meet so many backers and see how enthusiastic people have been. They always express so much gratitude for making this product and how it has improved their gaming so much!

Most were previous backers or had received most of their stuff and just love these great gaming upgrades, and a few wanted to let me know that they knew how hard this logistical season has been for everyone and assure me they knew if anyone was good for it, it was me (Game Toppers) and they were not worried even if they hadn't gotten a portion of the order yet. This was very kind and understanding. I think you know the burden I carry to care well for every backer and our team works tirelessly to take care of each customer. We are a small family team doing really big things and this years delays with certain items has really been an expensive and frustrating challenge. That all said, thank you for your patience! If you fell in some of the categories where your items were delayed we understand your concerns. It's very complicated doing partial fulfillment, but we made a very expensive commitment to ship out items as they came in, rather than waiting for everything to arrive. Rest assured everything else will be on its way when it arrives. We get quite a few emails asking about the why the Leg Kits and Dining Covers didn't arrive with the order, and why they received address shipping verifications, but are still waiting for small accessory or mat orders.

Do you want the good news or the bad news? I think you want the good first...

Good news is, we are almost done with domestic USA shipments. We had a big 2 day blizzard that set us back a bit, but we expect by the end of this week, March 4th, we will have all Wave 2 toppers pledges, accessories like leaf bundles, rail bundles, mat racks and mat bundles, cup holders and other accessories will be shipped out  in the USA and you should receive UPS tracking number. (This is now complete! Any US backers that ordered prior to March 10th should have their entire pledges shipped minus Leg Kits and Dining covers).

Canada:

We are starting the packaging process next week March 7th and hope to have it all packed up by March 22th and shipped to our fulfillment partner Pick and Pack Logistics. Then it will be trucked to Toronto Canada, inventoried and shipped out. This process normally takes about 2 weeks. So it is reasonable to expect that by the middle of April everyone in Canada should either have their orders or tracking for their pledges from Pick and Pack.

The not so Good news...

Just last week, we were notified by our logistics import team that the container that has all the leg kits on it (yeah the one that has already been bumped 3 times) and the remaining larger order of cardboard coasters, accessory banks, and player shields, was rerouted to Korea rather than heading straight to Vancouver as planned. The only explanation they will give me is the assumption that the Vancouver port is heavily congested. We see that it is sitting in a bay by Japan now. The new ETA which I have verified again is Vancouver March 22nd, to MPLS  by rail March 28th truck to Fergus Falls April 1st.

LOTS of ships!!!!!

I'm not sure how else to say it, but I was pretty upset!!! It is a very helpless feeling knowing that you are paying incredibly high prices and the service stinks and it messes up all my glorious plans! I want to get this to everyone!!! I hate to disappoint my backers!!!

I spent the better part of a week helping the guys in the shop with orders and rearranging the warehouse so we could set up the assembly of the cartons and storage bags to pack all the leg kits.

This has a cascading effect for us, because we have to re -modulate and figure out how to get the Canada order ready and then ship a separate batch of products to Canada when they come in. This is very expensive, not my fault, but has to be addressed.

The good news is... with the exception of Leg Kits and Dining Covers and some extra Cardboard Coasters that are on that container, we have enough of everything else to complete the segment to Canada.

Canadian Backers we need your help ASAP!!!

We are short about 50 printed sets of cardboard covers that fit on the cup holders due to this delay, and we can't hold the entire order back because of these covers. We will have to ship those out later unless you would like to upgrade to the acrylic coaster and marker sets.

OFFER:

If we have to send the Cardboard covers out later when they arrive, it will cost us about $15.00 per set. It's not your fault, so we understand if you would prefer that, but If you would be willing to upgrade to the Acrylic coaster set, I will discount them for the lower cost of 50% off (for only $20.00 a set -Reg 39.95) We really need to know ASAP to not delay our packing for Canada. If we don't hear from you by next Monday March 7th, we will assume you don't want this upgrade offer and the cardboard covers will ship later. (This offer is still possible since many of you did not receive this update, it's quite a bit trickier for us to manage now that we are already packing pledges, so if you want to take advantage of this, please let us know ASAP!!! Also if you are open to us just not shipping the printed covers at a later date either because you already ordered the Acrylic or don't care about the cover please let us know and we can skip shipping them altogether.)

Leg Kit domestic backers:

If we receive these by the current Eta (April 1st), we think we can inventory and pack the orders in 3-4 weeks time and that means we should be able to ship by the end of April to US backers. We will keep you updated on the arrival and progress of those item. I hesitate to give dates, but I will keep you all in the loop as to when they are ready.

Dining covers:

Not much change here, Est May. still on allocation.  We hope to have the product before we ship to All overseas areas like the EU and Australia. We will keep everyone updated on that front as well.

Backer Suggestions:

I have been hesitant to discuss this much as it is hard for me to ask for help. I like to be the giver not the receiver. I have had many backers and contemporaries in the hobby say I really should explain the cost overruns and impact that this pandemic and shipping cycle have had. Unless you have done this, it's hard to know what actually happens on the business side. I'm going to give you a little peak behind the curtain...

It is difficult to quantify. Forecasting is a skill that we generally have had a good track record, but because of allocation and cost increases in almost every area there was just no way to anticipate the impact that has occurred.

Cost increases we have incurred in 2021:

Aluminum 16 percent

Overall Topper price increases 18 percent

Packaging -cardboard resin foam corners - 20 percent

Mold injected products like cup holders and poker chip trays 50 percent increase

Mats 15 percent increase

Lot of other costs that have increased that are too many to mention.

Shipping cost: This is the hardest to absorb.

Due to delays, we had to absorb over $60.00 per topper package due to peak service surcharges on large packages, $6 surcharges on small packages. Canada has increased their prices now.

5 containers this year that normally would cost $30,000.00, Actual total cost will be over $125,000.00.

Domestic trucking has almost doubled, sometimes more than that.

Partial fulfillment decisions to ship in stock items early rather than waiting for everything to arrive has also been very expensive. We airfreighted some small accessory  items that cost over $8000.00 alone. We think there was another $20,000.00 absorbed.

I did all this without asking for a penny because of my commitment to my word and to honor my backers trust in us. I still will. Thankfully our company is very lean and debt free. We had hoped to hire 2 more staff to light the work load on us, but there was just no way that would be wise at this time as we estimate that we have spent over $200,000 more than expected.

Many have suggested to me. "let your backers know." They care about Game Toppers well being, and they trust you. I have had several dozen backer say they wanted to donate. Wow, blows my my mind how kind and generous our backers are!!!

Feb Shipping Update 2-11-22

Greetings Game Topper Nation.

First, we want to thank you for your continued support and kind understanding during this challenging logistics season. (We get a lot of emails with questions we cover in the updates, but we realize sometimes people don’t get these. You can always check the KS update tab, and it isva good idea to checkspam folder for your KS email.)

Update: (when your pledge is shipping you will recieveva UPS tracking email)

1.  We are nearing the completion of the USA Topper and Topper package fulfilmemt. Yay!!! (not to be confused with late pledges-if you ordered after the KS as a late pledge/pre-order that will be next)

We expect by the middle of next week  the remaining KS Wave 2 USA orders will be shipped, if all goes well.

2. The next segments are LATE Pledges Topper pre/orders …we have about 100 of these packages we expect to take about 1 week to ship.

3.  Late Pledge small orders like leaf bundles, rail bundles, mat and accessories late pledges. We expect this to take 1 week. This includes items you may be missing from your initial pledge.

(Leg Kit and Dining Cover not included in the above shipping) see below.

Leg Kits:

These are in transit to Vancouver. Latest ETA is recieving them at end of Feb.

We then need to inventory and package these. We hope to get these all out very soon after we recieve them.

Dining Covers:

Still in process. Estimate based on current info that April/May we recieve them.

There are many moving parts and doing our best to get these ASAP. Dining cover will ship separately when they arrive and are packaged.

Canada wave 2 and Late pledges will ship once we get Leg kits in. Estimated 1st week of March but is dependent on Leg Kit arrival.

EU and Australia orders:

Overseas backers can still add to thier pledges and Late pledge. we need our dining covers to arrive to include in these shipments.

Josiah and the team have been working very hard. The fewer support questions/emails asking for updates would help us finish much sooner. Every email, takes away from us packing your orders, We deeply care about getting your order to you and we will always answer your questions. We know people are excited and have concerns, but unless it is a critical question, like address change, lost shipment or damaged item if you can hold off it will help us get through these last segments faster.

January shipping Update 1-25-22

Greetings Game Topper Nation!!!

It's a New Year with exciting new hopes and dreams! I'd be remiss if I first didn't say how much we appreciate you all, and how your support in this very difficult fulfilment cycle has been  truly overwhelming.

My biggest concern is never me, it is always  about you having a good experience with us, and then the well being of our team. We thank you for your kind patience and encouraging sentiments!!! Thankfully, we are about 90 percent complete with domestic fulfillment,  and most have received the majority of their pledges with a few exceptions I will talk about below.

It has been a challenging time for our manufacture too, but they have remained committed to keeping us on the top of their list for our orders. We just received a semi of Game Toppers, Leaves and Accessory Rails to finish domestic Wave 2 and late pledge orders. More coming in a couple of weeks.

Update:

We  had a very frustrating delay with a large 45 ft. container of mats that arrived in Tacoma Washington Dec 17th. This was the remaining new mats, Game Haul Bags, Rail Bags, Leaf Bags and other small items needed to finish domestic fulfilment. Because of port congestion, it got moved to a holding yard with hundreds of other container's with no way to dispatch. On top of that they charged us $315 for every 5 days and would not allow us to pick up. The transloader finally picked up Jan 14th. It was suppose to transload and ship the 17th. Find out the warehouse had a Covid outbreak and it didn't leave until Friday 21st. 

Good NEWS!!! We just received it Monday. We are now inventorying and preparing wave 2 pack lists for Domestic fulfillment completion. Thankfully, we only have about 10 percent of Domestic fulfillment left. Josiah and the team are working very hard and diligently on getting this last domestics Wave 2 and pre -orders delivered. We expect this process to take us about two weeks. 

So if you are one of the remaining 10 percent that fall in this category, you should  be seeing a shipping address verification email soon and when your pledge ships you will receive a tracking verification email. Please monitor your spam folders.  This includes late pledges.

Canada remaining fulfillment -We expect the truck to go out end of Feb to our fulfillment Center as well.

Overseas shipments currently projected April/May 2022

Exception Note: (Leg Kits and Dining Covers)

The Leg kits had been held in port since Oct 24th, because of 3 bumped shipments. I won't bore you with the gory details. I cannot tell you how frustrating  and costly this has been for us. We should have had them all shipped out by Dec. Well, they finally made it on a ship Jan 15th heading to Richmond, Wisconsin. We expect these the middle of Feb. if all goes well. That's a big if. Logistics have not been going well or on time as expected. Communications are the worst I have ever seen. I'm not trying to be negative, but sadly this is a new reality. We hope and have some optimism that it will work it self out in the coming months. 

I feel like I am in a Planes, Trains and Automobile, Ground Hog Day thingy!

Leg kit Delivery in the USA.

Packaging is in line and we expect we should be able to kit/package and ship out Leg kits pledges by end of Feb in the USA if all goes well. Canada should go out then too.

Dining covers. We have a new prototype arriving in a few days.  (See Nov update more details)

This has been a process and taken much more time than expected due to allocation and product specs. It's complicated and many moving parts. To spare you the details, we are expecting to receive these in April. Lunar new year in /china and shipping issues are contributing to this delay.

I will keep you update in March about this all. I'm confident that we will have these for you relatively soon and you'll be impressed, but I need to make sure we get all the details correct and provide you the top notch quality we expect!

Overseas shipping.

I feel like I have talked about this at nauseum, but it is worth repeating as we have many new backers overseas. The reason we can provide the low cost of shipping to The UK and EU ...is bulk shipping.

A single mat can cost from $80-$120 to ship from the states, and a topper over $1000.00. It's crazy!!!

While it is still costly, as you know our shipping rates with this method are a fraction of what it could be. 

So of course, we need everything to to be in-stock before we can sent the international shipment to Germany, UK and Australia. We had hoped this would be done before March 2022, but all of the delays in the world  it has had a cascading effect. I am very sorry that this is the way it is. Rested assured, I deeply care about this and have made every provision I can possible make to get this done asap. I even have some exciting ideas I'll relay soon.

I can't wait to share exciting plans for the future!!!! While I am working on the future, the majority of our focus is getting you all these great upgrades to your gaming!!!
